State House Speaker Tim Moore, R-Cleveland, took a tour Tuesday of the 104-turbine wind farm project Moore and his colleagues tried to close.

During the tour of the $400 million Amazon Wind Farm in Pasquotank and Perquimans counties, the lawmakers discussed the project with local leaders in support of the wind farm, the Daily Advance of Elizabeth City reported.

The meeting, which was attended by Moore and six other lawmakers, was organized by Rep. Bob Steinburg, R-Chowan, in response to efforts to shut down the wind farm. Earlier in the month, Moore, along with nine other lawmakers and one military official signed a letter asking Trump to close the project due to its proximity to a radar used by the Navy.
